Multiple imagery - Work diary

Today, we looked at the techique 'multiple imagery'. We had already created an image bank for this chosen techique so were aware of what we were asked to do during the lesson. We completed two seperate shoots within the lesson that were both based on 'multiple imagery'. The first shoot we completed was a location shoot were we were able to capture both man made and natural subjects. The second shoot was in the studio and consisted of using someone as the chosen subject. I think that the overall experience of completing 'multiple imagery' was interesting and gave me knowledge that will help me in future projects/tasks.

This was my favourite studio photograph as I thought that it captured the subject's legs really well. I like the fact that I used a variety of different heights and angles in order to show her legs. I think that the photographs are quite similar which does make the photograph look a little repetitive but I feel like it creates an idea in your mind that you were there because of the different photographs - you are able to capture the subject's legs from looking directly at the multiple imagery grid. I think that the bottom middle photograph was the worst one out of the 9 as you cannot tell that it is the subject's hips. Although it doesn't match the rest of the photographs, I felt like adding it in because it created better imagery.

I think that this photograph is my favourite of the locational photographs but also of the overall set of photographs. I think that it is my favourite as the subject I chose to shoot was very detailed and the set of flowers/bush covered a large amount of space within the college grounds. This helped me capture different angles and photographs of the same subject and really helped me to capture 'multiple imagery' in a better way. I also think that this grid looks really good because of the texture and variety of different sizes of the flowers. If I were to re-create this grid I would consider making it black and white as it may give the detail and overall appearance of the photograph a better effect.

If I had to develop this subject again I would try and look into doing more natural subjects as I think that it is easier to capture the detail and beauty of the subject. I would also look into 'multiple imagery' a little bit more to expand my knowledge of what works best - the fact that we had already completed a image bank for the technique helped me slightly when understanding what was asked by my teacher.
