Research log

1. John Free


John Free's work consists of black and white street photography that captures the everyday lives of ordinary people. I think his work is detailed and gives an insight into the street life.

2.Yanidel


Yanidel's work uses colour to capture people in their natural habitat. I like his work because every individual photograph is different and I think that it is therefore varied. 


3. Joel Meyerowitz 


I like Joel Meyerowitz's work because it uses both colour and black and white to capture the lives of the people on the street. I think that his work is good and I really like his photographs of the 9/11 accident.


4. Zack Arias


Zack Arias' work uses both colour and black and white to highlight the activity of the people he photographs. He creatively captures them in a way that allows for the audience to feel the emotions that the people feel.


5. Hamey Joag



Hamey Joag is a street photographer that captures photographs that contain something in the streets that should not be there. I really like Hamey's photography as I like it relates to my topic well.


6. Matt Stuart


Matt Stuart's work consists of both colour and black and white photography. His work is based in London and captures the lives of the people in the photographs.


7. Alex Webb

Alex Webb's work consists of mainly coloured photographs. When looking at his individual photographs, there is a lot of chaos going on and therefore there is a lot of things happening in the photographs. I like this about his work.


Sam Baker


Sam Baker's photography consists of different types of topics but I am focusing on her performance shots. I think that her performance photography is really detailed and therefore captures exactly what should be captured within the shots.


9. Paul Colwell

Paul Colwell's work is very varied but I think for me, his performance work stands out. I like the detail that can be seen within each individual shot. I also think the contrast between the backgrounds and the performer works really well for him.


10. Boogie


Boogie's work consists of black and white photographs that are varied but highlight the street life of the harder times through the use of 'tough people' and 'bad influences' such as handguns/pistols.


Dylan Kasson



Dylan Kasson's work is quite creative and different and therefore captures my attention immediately as his work stands out against the rest. I think that this work is really cool and I think that it stands out in regards of creativity and photography.


12. Phillip Abbott


I think that this is one of my favourite street photographers due to the fact that his work creates a journal that informs the audience about the journeys that he goes on. I really like his skateboarding photography as I think that the photographs are quite interesting and different.


13. Richard Sandler




Richard Sandler's photography work is purely black and white and appears to be old-fashioned. I think that his black and white work looks really professional and therefore is different to the majority of street photographers I have looked at during this research log.



14. Eric Kim


Eric Kim's photography work isn't specific to one type of street photography, but instead differs all the time. He uses both colour and black and white within his photographs. I like the fact that his photographs are broad and varied.


15. Alexander Richter


Upon looking at Alexander Richter's photograph work, I can tell that I like it very much so. I have looked at a couple of skateboarding photographs that he has taken and I think that the shots look really good and I enjoy looking at them. He also appears to do people as a main subject and I think it works really well.


16. Cheryl Dunn


I think that Cheryl Dunn's photography work is very diverse and I enjoy that about her. The photographs contain both colour and black and white shots and I think that this is interesting. Each photograph shows a different story and from looking at the shots, you can tell that Cheryl's work is mainly completed in America.



17. Terry Richardson


Looking at Terry Richardson's work, you can tell that he does both street and studio photography. Upon looking at his street photography work, you can see that he photographs street signs and I think that they're interesting to view.


18. JR


JR's photography is really interesting because it consists of both street photography and performance art photography. I think that both types of photography are really interesting and they work really well and look really effective. 


19. Andre Baumecke


Andre Baumecke also focuses on both street photography and performance art photography. Andre's work also consists of both colour and black and white shots. I think that Andre's work is really interesting and I like the variety of the photographs.


20. Sam Stockman


Sam Stockman's photographs are mainly beach orientated and I think that they're really good in terms of beauty and prettiness. The photographs consist of both colour and black and white shots and I think that this is interesting and differs each individual shots.
