This is my photograph that I took during a shoot in a prison. The shot consists of a bike tyre. The composition of the bike tyre is in the left third of the photograph. The orientation of the photograph is landscape. I took this photograph as a landscape shot because I thought it would look more interesting and appealing. I decided to take this photograph this specific way because I thought that it would look more effective rather than being placed in the centre of the space. I also took this photograph because I wanted the audience to question why there is a random tyre in the shot. The photograph was taken in colour but I decided to edit it and transform it into black and white. I decided to change the shot to black and white to make the tyre stand out more towards the naked eye. If I were to re-do this shot, I would change the composition of the tyre to mix up the shots.
This photograph is by a man named Dylan Kasson. He is not a famous photographer but has a lot of interesting and professional shots. This specific photograph consists of a bike tyre and a little part of the frame which indicates that this is a small section of a bike which has been taken. The photograph has been taken as a portrait to capture the frame as well as the tyre. The composition of the tyre is centred and to the left so there is space available to the right, top and bottom of the shot. The photograph is in colour to allow for the bike's tyre to stand out against the background. The dark black tyre captures the audience's attention immediately as it contrasts with the light background. This photograph makes the audience question what is happening within the shot and makes them question why there is a bike tyre in the shot and little else.
Both photographs are very similar in terms of capturing a subject which makes the audience question what is going on. Although the orientation and the composition of both tyres are different, the fact that they both include the same subject makes them relatable as photographs. Both of the shots contain only one bike tyre which makes you question where the other one is or why the other one hasn't been taken as well. The questioning of the audience also relates the two photographs. They both question whoever views them which is an important part of producing a intriguing photograph.
