Connecting essay two

I took this photograph during my third shoot when I went to London. This  shoot contained shots of street performers and skaters. This specific shot contained a street performer who sat on the side of the path. I decided to take this shot because the performer stood out against the background and the rest of the surroundings. The performer's composition is centred to ensure that he is the main focus of the shot. The performer is seen to be wearing a black suit with a white shirt and red tie. He is also seen to be wearing white gloves and a black round top hat. He is sitting on a bag which has been placed underneath him. The background contains two people who are standing still. There are also different green coloured trees and a fence that runs from one side of the photograph to the other. If I were to re-take this photograph I would focus on different angles to capture the performer in different ways and in different lights.

This photograph was taken by a photographer who took the shot of the performer as they were passing by. The photographer took interest in the performer and decided to take a shot to indicate what they saw. It clearly shows a performer who is sitting on the side of a path. The composition of the performer is centred to ensure that he is the main subject within this shot. The performer is seen to be wearing a black/grey suit with a white shirt and patterned tie. He is seen to be waving - he may be waving at someone but the photograph does not show who and where. He is wearing a pair of glasses which sit between his collar and hat. The performer is also wearing a black round hat and black gloves. He is sitting on a black bag which has been placed on the ledge where he is sitting. The background shows a number of members of the public as well as different coloured and height buildings.

These photographs are both extremely similar. The shots indicate that the performer is the exact same but has changed his clothing. This therefore demonstrates that each shot was taken on a separate day. The shots also show the performer without a head - this is part of his trick. These shots are practically identical apart from the background which shows that the two photographs were taken from different angles. The shots also show that the performer has positioned himself roughly in the exact same place both times - indicating that this is his spot in which he usually performs.
