Image within image - work diary

This shoot consisted of demonstrating the technique 'image within image'. I first took this technique with everyone else in the class when we had organised to do it. I then decided that I didn't think it worked that well so I decided to do another shoot based on the same technique. This involved my dad going to the common and having his photograph taken multiple times. I think that out of the two shots, the better one was the second one. I still used elements of the first shoot in the video though because some of it was quite good. I think that this technique was really fun purely because of the creative side of it. I like the fact that you could pick any background and choose what you wanted to inside of the frame when editing.  I think that this was one of my favourite techniques to do because of how interesting it was.

I think that this photographs is one of my favourites purely because of the background and the shot placed in the frame. I think that the background is really pretty and compliments the foreground really well. I like the fact that I put some flowers from the field behind the camera in the shot. I decided to place them in there because I thought they were really different and contrasted in colour with the grass seen behind. I also think that the lighting works really well and makes it look more professional. If I were to re-take this photograph, I would try and put something different in the frame to make it more varied.

I think that this photograph is good in terms of the background but I am not too sure about the overall appearance of the photograph. I have looked at this photograph a couple of times and have come to the conclusion that it just looks like a picture in a frame rather than two separate photographs. I think that the idea behind using the arm and the sky was interesting to do and quite a good idea but it looks too much like a picture in a frame rather than two separate photographs. If I were to retake this, I would probably use a different section of the sky and place that in the frame to make it look more dramatic.
